Nouveau Wine Weekend In Galena – Nov. 18th-19th

Posted by on November 28, 2011

In Galena Illinois we have long celebrated the fabulousness of great wines, and the tradition continues November 18th and 19th with Nouveau Wine Weekend in Galena. If you’re up for a little indulgence, come on out to Galena for some wine tastings of not only the French-inspired Nouveau, but Oregon Pinot Noirs, Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignons, Marlborough Sauvignon Blancs and Cameros Chardonnays. The grand tasting runs from 4:00-6:00 at the Galena Convention Center at 900 Galena Square Drive. Here’s a great website where you can buy your wine tasting tickets and plan where to stay, what to eat, and things to do during your stay. In the meantime, here’s a little history on Beaujolais Nouveau:

Beaujolais Nouveau: History Behind the Third Thursday in November

Banners proclaim the good news: Le Beaujolais Nouveau est arrivé! “The New Beaujolais has arrived!” One of the most frivolous and animated rituals in the wine world has begun.
