In 2003 the Harmston family of Elizabeth, IL established the Massbach Ridge Winery in the rolling hills of northern Illinois. Located only 30 minutes southeast of Galena, this winery is a short drive through the country and a local favorite. They welcome visitors to come in for a tasting fee of only $3, tour the vineyard to see the fruits of the labor, and to sit and relax on the patio surrounded by the peace of a country setting.
